This original art poster is from the Royal Academy of Arts for the 2022 exhibition Kyōsai: The Israel Goldman Collection, which celebrated the work of the 19th-century Japanese artist Kawanabe Kyōsai. Kawanabe Kyōsai (1831-1889) was a Japanese painter and printmaker of the late Edo and early Meiji periods. He studied traditional painting and was influenced by both ukiyo-e and Chinese painting styles.

His style is known for bold brushwork, dynamic compositions, and a mix of humor and satire. Kyōsai often depicted historical scenes, folklore, and the supernatural, blending expressive realism with imaginative exaggeration.
