This is an original art gallery poster for the Galerie Drouant showing a vibrant, expressionistic painting by Jean Even depicting an equestrian scene with horses and riders in red jackets near a jump or fence line. It is from 1979.
Jean Even (1910-1986) was a French painter, lithographer, and poster artist who became an official painter of the French Navy. His travels in Morocco and later life in Brittany greatly influenced his work.
His style is characterized by vibrant colors, expressive brushwork, and lively coastal and maritime scenes. Combining influences from Orientalism and Post-Impressionism, his paintings capture light, movement, and atmosphere with a decorative, energetic touch.
The poster is in used condition with minimal yellowing, signs of handling along the borders and small knitters.
The poster is unframed and will be sent rolled in a sturdy tube. The price includes registered/tracked and fully insured shipping with national post.
